Originated from Tibet’s Zhang Zangbo Glacier, Sun Koshi is a trans-boundary river and is a part of the Koshi River or Saptakoshi River system in Nepal. Many years ago a  small quantity of gold was found from its sand, and thus, the name Sun Koshi was given to this river, which basically means, ‘River of Gold’ in Nepali. This river is very famous for rafting and kayaking. With a few complex sections, the rapids of this river are perfect for novice rafters or someone who wants to brush up their rafting/kayaking skills. Sun Koshi river is 270 kilometres long, therefore, it is an ideal river to for rafters to raft to their heart’s content. As per the season, rapids appear and disappear anytime making it even more thrilling. Some of the most interesting, challenging and popular rapids that you will be passing are Harkapur I and II (Class V-), Meat Grinder (Class IV-), Punch (Class IV-), Judy (Class III), Pre-anxiety (Class III) and High-anxiety (Class IV-).  Not only this, throughout your journey, but you will also be surrounded by villages, stunning sceneries, and white sandy beaches.
