Mardi Himal Trek is one of the newest trekking trails of Nepal opened for trekkers in 2012. Since the trail is recently opened it is less crowded and perfect for anyone looking to spend some quality time alone in nature. Mardi Himal Trek can be done in both tea house and camping style. This is a short and easy trek suitable for trekkers of all ages and abilities. Located in the famed Annapurna region, Mardi Himal Trek offers majestic views of Mt. Annapurna (8,091 m) and Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), the tenth and seventh highest mountains in the world. You will trek to the Base Camp of Mardi Himal from where you will get to see breath-taking views of Mt. Machhapuchhre (6,993 m), Mardi Himal (5,587 m), and several surrounding mountains.
Mardi Himal Trek begins with a scenic flight to Pokhara, second biggest city as well as tourists destination of Nepal. The flight will present stunning views of Himalayan mountains and sceneries. Upon reaching Pokhara, you will drive to Phedi and start trekking towards Pothana through terrace farming fields, forest, and local villages. Spending a night here, you will head to Kokar Forest. On the way, you will go through dense forests of pine and rhododendron. Leaving Kokar Forest behind, you will ascend to Lower Camp and then to High Camp. The trail from here will take you to Mardi Base Camp located at 4,500 meters. After spending some time at the Mardi Himal Base Camp, you will trek back to Milanchok en route High Camp and Siding. Your adventurous trip doesn’t end here. Further, you will go on rafting in Upper Seti River known for its continuous rapids. You will drive back to Kathmandu and end your trip.

Mardi Himal Trek is a short and easy journey in the Annapurna region. The trail goes through forested trail, rivers, crossing several thrilling suspension bridges with numerous ascends and descends. Even though the Mardi Himal Trek is named as an easy trek, you still have to trek around 5 to 6 hours every day, which demands good physical fitness and strength. You don’t need to have any prior trekking experience but if you have one it will surely help you a lot.
