Mardi Himal Trek is one of the newest trekking trails of Nepal opened for trekkers in 2012. Since the trail is recently opened it is less crowded and perfect for anyone looking to spend some quality time alone in nature. Mardi Himal Trek can be done in both tea house and camping style. This is a short and easy trek suitable for trekkers of all ages and abilities. Located in the famed Annapurna region, Mardi Himal Trek offers majestic views of Mt. Annapurna (8,091 m) and Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), the tenth and seventh highest mountains in the world. You will trek to the Base Camp of Mardi Himal from where you will get to see breath-taking views of Mt. Machhapuchhre (6,993 m), Mardi Himal (5,587 m), and several surrounding mountains.

Mardi Himal Trek begins with a scenic flight to Pokhara, second biggest city as well as tourists destination of Nepal. The flight will present stunning views of Himalayan mountains and sceneries. Upon reaching Pokhara, you will drive to Phedi and start trekking towards Pothana through terrace farming fields, forest, and local villages. Spending a night here, you will head to Kokar Forest. On the way, you will go through dense forests of pine and rhododendron. Leaving  Kokar Forest behind, you will ascend to Lower Camp and then to High Camp. The trail from here will take you to Mardi Base Camp located at 4,500 meters. After spending some time at the Mardi Himal Base Camp, you will trek back to Milanchok en route High Camp and Siding. Your adventurous trip doesn’t end here. Further, you will go on rafting in Upper Seti River known for its continuous rapids. You will drive back to Kathmandu and end your trip.

Mardi Himal Trek is a short and easy journey in the Annapurna region. The trail goes through forested trail, rivers, crossing several thrilling suspension bridges with numerous ascends and descends. Even though the Mardi Himal Trek is named as an easy trek, you still have to trek around 5 to 6 hours every day, which demands good physical fitness and strength. You don’t need to have any prior trekking experience but if you have one it will surely help you a lot.

  • Day 1:

    Arrival Kathmandu, Nepal

    You are landing Trivuwan International airport at Kathmandu and happy to welcome and meet you at the airport. Drive to the hotel around 15 minutes with topical Nepali traffic. We will go to see tourist place Thamel and rest at the hotel.

  • Day 2:

    Kathmandu Heritage sightseeing

    After a great breakfast, you are ready for the day to go sightseeing. Boudhanath and Pashupatinath, both listed on UNESCO world heritage site. Boudhanath is the world biggest stupa of a Buddhist monastery which is a very important pilgrimage site for Buddhist people. Pashupatinath is Hindus temple for Hindu people, especially god Shiva. Where we can see unique cremation of when Hindu people dead.

  • Day 3:

    Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara and wooden boat trip in Phewa Lake

    Early morning great breakfast at the hotel and drive to the airport. We will fly 23 minutes and get a small plane experience by flying domestic airlines. Please choose the right side of the plane to see the spectacular mountain view of Langtang range, Manaslu range, and Annapurna range. After flight rest a little bit at the hotel and rest to do a boat trip, where we can see Annapurna mountain range reflecting on the lake.

  • Day 4:

    Drive from Pokhara to Phedi and trek to Pothana

    We will take a nice breakfast at the hotel and be heading towards the mountain. Day start by a short drive to Phedi. Start walk with stone steps and great terrace farming fields, forest, local villages, beautiful people around and view of holy mountain Fishtail(Machhapuchre).

  • Day 5:

    Trek from Pothana to Kokar forest Camp

    The second day starts with easy ascent until Deurali and approximately 40 minutes flat walk and again ascent uphill. It walks into pine and big rhododendron forest and more colourful trees in the forest. We will go with pack lunch and have a picnic lunch middle of the way. Overnight at the guesthouse.

  • Day 6:

    Trek from Kokar forest to Lower camp

    Short walking day, It is always a good little walk and rests on the mountain because we will be almost 3000m today. It is for our save energy and acclimatization. Stunning view of Mt. Fishtail. Overnight at the guesthouse.

  • Day 7:

    Trek from lower camp to High Camp

    One more day of lass walk. As you know of altitude, a short walk and lass ascent will make you fit to go to more high to the mountain. On the way see another popular rough ABC and Gurung ethnic settlement village Ghandruk and Chhomrong and Fishtail base camp as well. Most beautiful view of Mt. Annapurna south, Himchuli and Fishtail. And enjoy a sunset view on the mountain. Overnight at the guesthouse.

  • Day 8:

    Hike High camp to Mardi Base Camp(4500m) to low camp

    A long day of our travel today but meaningful. We wake up early morning to have sunrise and have breakfast, and take lunch in the pack. We are heading to the Mardi Himal base camp. We left the grassy land and flowing rocky and glacier way up. Our packed lunch will have a view of Annapurna I, Mardi Himal, and more. Back the same way down to low camp and overnight.

  • Day 9:

    Trek from High camp to siding/Kalimati

    Today we will down much more, around 1600m, to siding or Kalimati Gurung village. Back down different rough to the upper Mardi Khola(river) with the magical landscape and terrace farming fields. Lunch will be at Ghalel village on the way. We visit the Lwong village with a traditional house. The new test of the homestay facility at both villages and enjoy a melodious evening with folk singing and dancing by local mother group—overnight homestay.

  • Day 10:

    Drive from Siding/ Kalimati to Pokhara

    Today we will take a slow day, and enjoy nature and relaxing yoga. And drive back to Pokhara.

  • Day 11:

    Half day upper Seti rafting

    It will be a more exciting day for you to do one more adventure from Pokhara. Upper Seti is really adrenaline river with continue rapids. We go rafting after breakfast in hotel and lunch will provide you on rafting and back to Pokhara. You can enjoy your more half a day as you want, there is an option if you want to have any help. We always there for you. Overnight at hotel

  • Day 12:

    Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

    We drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus which leaves 7:30 am from Pokhara. It will take 6 to 7 hours. If you want to fly from Pokhara that also possible, but the cost will be extra. The evening we all get together and have dinner with culture show. Overnight at hotel

    Final departure

    Back home time. We will ready to pick up you at your hotel on your flight schedule and drop your international airport. We will wish you to have a safe journey back to the country.
